rolled oats (not instant)
1 c

[4 oz]

sunflower seeds, chopped
1 c

[4 oz]

pecans, chopped
1/2 c coconut flakes (unsweetened)
1/4 c sesame seeds
1/4 c flax seeds
Syrup
1/2 c agave syrup
1/2 c vegetable oil
2 tbs vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
Fruit
1/2 c dried blueberries
3/4 c dried cranberries

Granola

Preheat oven to 325°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silpat sheet or parchment paper.

Stir together the grains in a large bowl. Whisk together the syrup ingredients and pour over the grains, then stir it all together. Pour into prepared baking sheet and press into a compact layer.

Bake until toasty and golden, sixty to ninety minutes. Turn oven off and let the granola cool in the oven. When cool, transfer to a large bowl. Add the dried fruit, and stir together. Store in a tightly sealed jar.

substitutions: Granola is wonderfully versatile. Feel free to substitute other grains or nuts, and to use whatever fruit pleases you.
